Retirement planning doesn’t have to feel like an uphill climb. We understand how overwhelming it can seem—pushing it to "tomorrow" is easy. But what if the process could feel seamless, personalized, and even empowering? That’s where we come in.
We know this is likely new territory for you, and we aim to make the entire process as smooth as possible. After all, you’re not meeting with us to make life more complicated. You’re here to simplify your path forward—and we’re here to help.
What We Do: A Flexible, 2-3 Meeting Process
We’ve designed our process to be simple and comprehensive, allowing flexibility every step of the way to make sure you feel comfortable and confident.
Meeting 1: Getting to Know You
In our first meeting, a lot of the emphasis is getting to know each other. Your life, your vision, your plan, is far more than just the numbers that are on the page that build the plan. It is about who you are, what you think, and what makes everyday better for you. We want to focus on much more than just retirement accounts and investments in this meeting.
This meeting is just as much an opportunity for you to get to know us. We want you to ask as many questions as possible about our services but also welcome questions about us personally for you to feel more comfortable with us as we work together.
As we work through the first meeting, we ask that you bring in any statements or up-to-date figures on accounts you would like for us to review. This could wait for the second meeting as well, but many times we find that people like to start to tackle this step in meeting one.
Once we have an idea of all of the investments we are working with to build the plan, we once again want you to ask as many questions as you have. We will also be asking our own to get an idea of what we currently have and why as this helps us to build out the plan from a personal aspect and investment aspect.
What Happens Between Meetings
Once we wrap up meeting one, we get to work on building out the plan. We want to make sure we are checking off all of the boxes that we created in meeting one. Ensuring that as we plan, we keep in mind everything you need to see in your next stage of life.
We also spend this time seeing if there is anything we can tweak for the better, or any gaps we can fill in the planning process that can provide value to you and your life. This is essential to make sure you have an idea of where we see the best path forward and what steps we believe you need to make to get there.
Meeting 2: Presenting Your Tailored Plan
As we sit down for meeting two, the first thing we like to do is catch up on anything that has happened since we met last. We like to keep it about a week or so between the first and second meeting, but sometimes life gets busy and we totally understand that.
We also like to tackle any questions up front about anything that has popped up in the time between meetings. This way we are on the same page as we get into the plan.
Then we jump into the plan. We take this time to show you what we built. And it isn’t only about what we built, but also why. You need to know why we are thinking how we are and how it benefits you. So we walk through exactly what we are thinking going forward and how the plan we built can accomplish your goals. In this time, we again want you to ask as many questions as possible to make sure you are as comfortable as possible with the plan.
We then leave the plan with you and give you some time to think it over. You will not be asked to make a final decision in the office that day. Take as much time as you need and reach out to us when you’re ready.
Meeting 3: Perfecting the Details (Optional)
This meeting is completely optional. Many times we find that if there are some bigger tweaks to be made to the plan or if you would like to review the plan again, this is the meeting we can do so. This always allows us to make sure we have built a plan to show you everything you need to see. And also that you have had enough time to take it all in before making any decision.
Why Choose Our Process?
We understand that retirement planning is a deeply personal journey. That’s why our process is:
- Fee-Free: Whether it takes one meeting or ten, we never charge for planning. This time is about earning your trust and delivering value.
- Pressure-Free: There is also no pressure or stress with this process. Whether you want to meet one time or five times, ask one question or 50 questions, or need to take one week or six months between meetings, that is all totally fine.
- Flexible: Our process adapts to your needs, not the other way around. There’s no rigid structure here—only a commitment to making this as easy and stress-free as possible for you.
